Persian Zoroastrians Organization (PZO) is a religious and cultural nonprofit dedicated to serving the Zoroastrian community in San Jose, CA and the surrounding region. Operating from a temple located on Mount Hamilton east of San Jose, the organization provides comprehensive religious and cultural services grounded in the ancient teachings of Zoroaster—emphasizing the principles of Good Thoughts, Good Words, and Good Deeds. PZO serves as a vital sanctuary for religious ceremonies, spiritual observances, and cultural celebrations that connect the Zoroastrian faith to daily practice. With a thriving congregation of over 500 families, the organization facilitates meaningful gatherings that strengthen community bonds and preserve Zoroastrian heritage for both established members and newcomers to the faith. The organization was founded in 1981 by dedicated volunteers whose vision transformed into a physical spiritual home through the generous support of community leaders. Today, PZO continues to expand its capacity to serve the growing San Jose-area Zoroastrian population, currently working toward establishing a larger, more centrally located community center to better accommodate religious programming, cultural events, and community activities.
