Iranian American Society

The Iranian American Society (IAS) is a comprehensive support organization serving the Palos Verdes Peninsula, CA community and the broader Southern California region. Since its founding in 1991, IAS has developed into California's most trusted resource for domestic violence assistance, immigrant support services, and cultural preservation. The organization provides critical services including legal assistance, medical and dental referrals, job placement support, and housing assistance for victims of domestic violence and recent Iranian immigrants facing barriers to settlement in the United States.

Beyond immediate crisis support, IAS administers need- and merit-based scholarship programs for graduating high school students and current college students seeking to advance their education and improve their economic prospects. The organization maintains active committees dedicated to education, shelter services, and community outreach, ensuring coordinated delivery of assistance across multiple service areas. Operating entirely through volunteer contributions and community donations, IAS manages its resources through an annually elected board of directors and dedicated committee leadership. The organization actively raises funds through annual charity dinners, luncheons, and cultural events including the Nowrooz Bazaar celebration.
